The Marriage Bargain Billionaire Games Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Sandra Edwards William Dufris Books

Did not like it. There was absolutely no chemistry between the hero and the heroine! I read to the end because I wanted to really see at what point could I feel it but it never came. The one sex scene was so stale. The hero was just so cold and he French! !! The heroine just forgives him for being a jerk to her for the last 1/3 of the book because he believed she was a reporter trying infiltrate family to sell his family's story. She did nothing to make situation better because she was afraid of getting hurt. Too much pride from both and lack communication.

Also hero didn't even have any internal or external dialogue that made me feel he was even falling for her. Just wanted her badly in sexual way. I read one scene where he thought her agreeing to fake marriage by benefits didn't sit well with him and another possible hints at feelings when confronted by step mother toward end. However this was not enough, sorry it left me feeling bad and this is supposedly a light read.

Free read. Read it if you want to judge for yourself but don't say didn't warn you. Both have experience and don't expect any sexual chemistry or any type sexual steam in this read. Never thought hearing "cherie" would piss me off but hero managed to do it. Also what is the stale description if his winning smiles, sounded mocking to me. And worst all this because he can't man up and tell his father he will not marry his booty call. The guy knows his father likes this woman for him and he has her as a booty call and tells her to have some pride when she wants to stop the wedding. Douch. Uh, what waste of my time.

The Marriage Bargain Billionaire Games Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Sandra Edwards William Dufris Books Reviews

The Marriage Bargain was a cute and enjoyable read if all you want is some light reading. I enjoyed the book as I read it, but now that I sit here to review it, I see more and more flaws in the story.

I won't reiterate the plot because other have done that. The premise of this story is simple and often used by various authors. So, if you like stories about "fake" marriages of convenience that turn into the real thing, then this book is enjoyable on that level.

However, this book will not be winning any Pulitzers. There really is a horrible lack of character development in this book. And just because a book is meant to be fluff does not mean that the characters can be inconsistent and poorly developed. Example Camille is a Stanford graduate trying to become a reporter. Yet, she has no idea who Julian is, doesn't even bother to look up information about him before she considers getting married to him, is a virgin but jumps right into bed with him (why mention that she's a virgin if it adds nothing to the plot), etc, etc.

Julian's character is equally confusing. He likes Camille, but he doesn't want to really be married to her. He even seems to like Madeleine (the ex) at times. Really, I felt that the more characters were introduced, the more confused I became because each character's relationship with each other was so poorly explained. It's as though the author was trying to create characters with depth, but she did not know how to do it. So the reader ends up with inconsistent and half-explained characters.
If you love romance then this is one for you. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to download The Marriage Caper and The Marriage Fix. I chose this book because it sounded similar to Pretty Woman and it certainly was, in a way. The characters are very nice.

I gave this book four stars because I really did like it but there were parts of the book that were lacking information. Five stars would have been given if, when Camille meets Maurice and the rest of the family for the first time, she had been formally introduced which she wasn't. Also, they live in a huge great chateau and not once did she meet Maurice whilst on the stairs or anywhere come to think of it, and there could have been a few more details with regards to their love making which would have given the impression they were both falling in love with each other and had a special bond.

I downloaded this book and started reading it at once and realised I was not going to bed until I had finished, I really didn't want it to end.

I will most definitely keep it on my Tab and read it again when I have downloaded the next book and would recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance. Ohhh, it did make my toes curl and brought a smile to my face.

Well done Sandra, a good book and look forward to reading many more of your publications...... Thank you.
I do not usually review books but I was asked to so here goes. I have read Sandra Edwards books in the past and have found the ones I read to be good however this book was not. I almost stopped reading at the beginning but kept going so I could give an honest review. It felt to me to be far too rushed. The characters and their relationships were not fully developed. Not to mention poor grammar use from a Stanford graduate who supposedly caught the billionaire's eye as being "regal". Guarded attraction, little communication, and unwillingness to build their relationship does not make a good combo for falling in love. The big not so thrilling sex scene was more like a one night stand when it should have been really built up especially because it was supposed to be Camille's first time. The ending was abrupt and unbelievable because how can you take the characters from barely knowing each other and barely tolerating each other to blissfully in love and sharing untold wealth. The book definitely could use a do over.
